Charli & Luca

I just loved the dynamic of this session.  Sisters separated by almost 10 years and yet it’s clear the love they have for one another is like no other.  It was so sweet to watch Luca doting on her little sister (and keeping her in line…hehe).  Charli took a little convincing that I was not a big scary monster with a camera so Luca and I headed off to grab a few images while Charli skeptically looked on.  Can you even believe she’s just 13?  She is simply stunning…and those EYES.  Wowza.  I’m pretty sure when I was 13, an image of me may have reflected a mouth full o’ braces, pretty hideous geek glasses and quite possibly some nasty frizzy hairdo.  Anyhoo–I was loving every image we captured.  Especially once Charli came around and realized that I am in fact pretty frickin’ cool.  :)

Small Peek

just an itty bitty peek for mom from this mornings session.  More to come…promise. :)

Brendan

Oh my.  When I first laid eyes on this blue eye’d, blonde hair wonder with his unbelievably adorable hat, I thought “wow, this is gonna be awesome”.  Then his parents started playing with him and yes, yes it was awesome.  Every image.  So raw, so them and sooooo much fun.  Except when he was serious.  Which seriously, was pretty fun too…because he’s just that cute.

Oh, and as a side note, I had a hardy chuckle when we realized that mom and I had met many moons ago when I designed her monogram and wedding program back in like, 2004.  Oh, and I distinctly remember using Microsoft Paint to create it…remember that handy little tool??  Not to worry all…I’ve since upgraded. :)  But yep, I’ve been a design and creative dork for quite some years now my friends.

me thinks someone was a wee bit hot and ready to go home.  :)

Sisters

These ladies were SO much fun.  I normally have a bit of a warming up period with kids while they get used to me, but these three were ready to go in record time!  It was so obvious they are a family that spends a lot of time together and incorporates an awful lot of fun and laughter in their everyday life.  I was honored to be trusted to capture it all on camera.  I just love that I can still hear the laughter as I blog these….

Bump

Such a lovely, lovely bump.  What I would have given to look like this towards the end of my pregnancy {sigh}.  Guess I’ll settle for photographing perfect bumps instead!

Go…see for yourself.  :)

What beautiful pictures!!!! They made me tear up…with happy tears of course! You have such talent…capturing the love all of your subjects possess!!! Keep up the great work! Todd’s Mom :)

peek-ee-boo!

Say hi to Lily!  She’s got a secret.  Well, ok, at 34 weeks, not so much a secret, but…she’s going to be a big sister!   I had such flashbacks to my Bean at 2 right before McKenna made us a family of 4.  I can only hope that Lily’s baby brother brings the same joy to his family as Missy lous (aka McKenna) has brought to ours.  And I can’t wait to be there to photograph it.

See you again very soon Miss Lily!!

ps.  how stinkin’ cute are those boots?!?!

All Smiles

Oh sweet, sweet Emma.  Momma was all sortsa worried when she arrived and baby was crashed out cold not only on the way to the park, but even through the transfer to the stroller.  But….any worries of a grumpy baby disappeared almost immediately upon sight of the camera.  I mean really.  This kid would.  not.  stop.  smiling.  I had as much fun reliving this session in my digital darkroom as I did out there shooting it.  Every image makes me beam from ear to ear.  I hope you find the same.  :)

Now, I’m not usually much of a formal “portrait” fan as I typically prefer the enormous gigglish smiles, but there is just something about the look on her face in this first image,  be it those huge blue eyers or pouty lips…that literally makes my heart skip a beat.

Got a little hot…so we shed some clothes.  Kinda glad we did.  Love me some naked baby belly.  :)

She is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! I love the last image!!!

Such a gorgeous happy little girl…love your shots and clean processing, Dania.

She’s two!

I have had the distinct pleasure of photographing little Maddie since she was a teeny pea in momma belly and I get downright giddy each Spring as their session approaches.  I gasped as I saw how big she’d gotten in just a year and even more so when she opened her mouth and talked, talked, talked and talked!  Man I just love this kid.  ’till next Spring little Maddie!!

lucky me

There are so many times in the middle of a shoot I stop and say to myself  “oh my….this.  is.  my.  JOB!”

Yep, today was one of those days.

Itty Bitty Ellie

I’m an only child.  I beeeeeeged my parents for a sister to no avail.  I used to (oh, fine…still do) fantasize what it may have been like to have one and what life might be like today.  When I met Amy and her sister Courtney last fall to photograph Courtney’s little lady (you may recognize Avery as the adorable red-head from my header up above), my inner self screamed “yes!  this is what it’d be like!”.  Instantly upon meeting them, you could tell these two adored the heck out of each other…and Amy clearly loved Avery as if she were her own.  Well…imagine how stoked I was when I heard Amy was going to add her own little girl to the family and I was going to get to meet her within her first few days.  Yep…stoked!

So….lets meet Ellie. :)

Amy Hungershafer -

I LOVE all of these!!!! Thank you for all of your patience with Ellie! Can’t wait to do another photo shoot! :)

Lynn Swett -

Amy and Eric,

Your love for Ellie is clear. Your marvel in the process is, too.
I know you understand this miracle now…and have become a member of that club of people who understand and want to share it with each other. Not everyone understands. Aren’t we the lucky ones?!!!

Dania, these images are just beautiful…we love this family and are so happy for them! xoxxo

Sweet Isabella ♥

Tracy contacted me back in February about setting up a newborn session for her soon to be daughter.  It was a looooong wait as Isabella hung on tight in mommys tummy and was over a week late making her grand entrance into the world!  Well, she was totally worth the wait.  She was unbelievably sweet.  After a few little snackers, she was perfectly content despite the semi-cool breeze and handled the outfit changes like a champ.

Tracy was beyond prepared for our session and I was like a kid in a candy store when I walked into the master bedroom and saw the bed full of wonderful outfits, headbands, blankets she had picked out for Isabella.  I totally loved it because it ensured that our session was perfectly tailored to Tracy and her personal style.  I seriously urge all of my newborn clients to do the same!!

Without further adieu….meet Isabella Juliana (“Bella”)…

Tracy & Matt -

Thank you for these beautiful photos of our little girl. You would never know by these photos that she was fussy. I keep looking at them over and over again. Thank you again for capturing this important time for us.

Little Man James :)

You may remember James featured here from last November.  I couldn’t believe how he’d grown in 5 short months and though I wouldn’t have thunk it true, his eyes are even more blue.  No photoshopping the color here folks….they were this blue straight outta camera….though the blue shirt and bright sky certainly played an integral part. :)

Well, he’s ONE now so of course, we met up again to grab some updated shots.  He was THIS close to letting go of his momma and taking a few steps.  Perhaps had it not been 46 degrees with winds 20 mph, he would have felt a teeny bit more confident.  Nonetheless, he was awesome and boy, I just adore this little man.  I cannot wait to see him and his beautiful momma again soon (maybe daddy too next time)!

The boy who loved to fly…

I love those small town moments.  I’ve walked by this family a dozen times as they live about a half a block from me.  It wasn’t until we had talked through email about 5 times when I realized it!  Unfortunately, our new found neighbors are short lived ones as they are moving South next Month…so sad I don’t get to see little Eli grow up.  :(  But I made the most with the time I had with him and we had a blast running from one end of the park to the other….and back again.  Boy this kid can move!  And when he wasn’t on his own two feet, he wanted only to be airborne.  I kid you not when I say that I have no less than 50 frames of him flying through the air with a look of pure joy.  Holy perfect storyboard canvas potential!

Man, this kid was fun…

Calling Party of Six!

This session just proves that the old cliche “the more the merrier” is officially true when it comes to photography.  I LOVED this family.  Now, I love all my families {I truly do!} but these guys were just SO much fun!  I could tell from the second we met that we were going to get along A-OK.  They were everything a family of this size should be…fun loving, goofy and totally laid back.  I loved that despite the proper khakis, shirts and ties, mom and dad barely blinked an eye when within 5 minutes, the boys knees were wrecked in grass stains….and just smiled when the little lady Ellie took off her fancy shoes in lieu of bare feet.  Future clients, take note!  Some of my very best images are the result of letting the kids be just that…kids!
