You were so surprised and excited to wake up and find daddy still at home ready to play with us today…so out we headed to Saratoga for some fun at the Children’s Museum, followed by a little windy walk to Baileys to stuff our bellies full.  You girls were a delightful treat the entire morning.  The afternoon on the other hand….well, that’s a story for another day {YAAAAWN}.

Poor Kennedy has been a bit under the weather the past few days with an icky case of strep throat…so you’ve been getting a little more camera time than you typically do.  I debated posting this one since you’ll no doubt want to kill me someday for it, but sorry kid, it’s a proud moment for your momma.  We kept holding off on the potty training thinking you just weren’t ready, but boy did you prove us wrong.  Within a week of picking out your “kitty” and “punzel” big girl undies, you practically helped me toss the diapers out the window…and within the last two days, no longer feel you need the trainer seat nor the stool to get you up there.  So proud of you babe…but please don’t grow up too quick on me now, k?

Miss McKenna, you always make a half-hearted attempt to play  just long enough to pick out your guy and mess up all the cards before throwing in the towel and realizing that using daddy as a bounce house is just way more fun…

That is too cute!

McKenna Lily…you took such a long time to make your voice heard, but man when you did, you couldn’t soak up enough language…you became immediately obsessed with all things letters and you can spend countless minutes playing First Words on mommy’s “puter”.  I love the look of intense concentration on your face as you match each letter with such pride.

Kennedy, you no sooner sit down on the couch to relax after a long day at school than your crazy sister rushes over, quite concerned about how your feet faired todays activities.  Amazingly, you’re a sport and let her poke away in between each tiny toe, clearing out any bit of “yuck” that didn’t belong.  I hope you know what an incredible sister you are to our wacky tabacky McKenna Lou Lous…

A little bit of calm for you ladies after an exhausting half hour of splashing, laughing and catching up on your days adventures in the tubbie.  I could have watched you two forever as you so intently and quietly focused on your “art”.

I had big plans of doing something grand and spectacular to celebrate Valentines Day…but the last week or so has not lent itself to much creativity or planning on my end.  In all honesty though, this image of you two from today warms my heart more than any elaborate set up involving paper hearts, pink balloons and large open fields…for it’s real, it’s raw, and it’s totally and completely YOU.

While making breakfast this morning, I couldn’t resist preserving this moment of the two of you staring at the tv, snuggled close, still half asleep.  You so take after your momma when it comes to half conscious dazed mornings…

Sundays are some of your favorites days.  We’ve tried to make it a tradition to hit the pool as a family first thing Sunday mornings…and despite your blue lips within 20 minutes of hitting the water, the look of joy rarely leaves your face.  You are the cutest fish I have ever laid eyes on Miss Kennedy….

You girls musta known how much your momma needed a chuckle today.  I was at the sink doing my thang when I heard dad burst into laughter…I turn around and see the two of you engaged in a full on game of catch, including “woof woofs” and “go get it girl!”.  For the first time in days, the tears in my eyes were from a fit of laughter.  What in the world would we do without you crazy ladies??

Family Fun Night at Brown School.  Boy do you love this school (and for good reason).  God save us from the day we have to tell you that it’s no longer “your” school…but for now, the sky is your limit baby.  Climb till your heart’s content…

Miss McKenna, you sure are my crazy artist.  I should have captured video of you making your mark and then chucking the piece of chalk across the driveway in a fit of passion.  I can’t wait to see all the masterpieces you create in your lifetime…

Today was a heartbreaking day for your momma.  I learned that a most beloved Maddie Musto had left us all for a better place.  Daddy couldn’t wait to hold his girls in his arms so he rushed from work to bring you home to us.  Trying to take inspiration from the amazing Musto family, we made the most of the afternoon together and despite the cold temps, headed outside to do your most favorite thing in the world…swing!   That smile of yours warmed an otherwise heavy and aching heart…
