Remembering Maddie

As I sit down to write this post I feel at a loss for words (which doesn’t often happen).  It’s been a year and three days since I heard the devastating news that my dear friend Erin would be losing her oldest Musto chick to a cancerous brain tumor.  How unfair life can be sometimes.  How insanely un-freaking-fair.  Today one year ago I was in my car headed to the absolute most important photo session of my career.  Not a day goes by that I don’t think of sweet Maddie…or say a prayer for the beautiful family that misses her terribly.  She will forever remain loved.

If you’ve been following me, or the Mustos, then you know all about the incredible foundation that Erin and Matt started soon after they lost their Maddie – Maddie’s Mark.  And you may have also seen the herd of elephants that are being handcrafted with love by some incredibly talented and amazing people.  I am so in awe of how Erin and Matt have grown Maddie’s Mark over this past year and I hope that you will support them as well.

So for the month of February, I will be donating $50 from every session booked to Maddie’s Mark.  The sessions don’t need to occur in February…simply booked.  So if you are thinking of a Spring or Summer session with Kidography this year, there is no better time to book knowing a portion of your session fee will go to such a worthwhile cause.  Email Me to book a session and help support Maddie’s Mark.

Please also take a moment to visit their website and learn all about the amazing work they do.  Session booked or not, please consider making a donation, attend a fundraiser or purchase an elephant for your littles.  Every bit helps Maddie’s Mark continue their amazing work!

Please sharing this post by using the facebook share buttons below or by email to anyone you think may be interested.  And because no blog post is complete without a picture, I’ll leave you with one of my favorites from Maddie’s session last February.  Gosh I miss that beautiful face.

Diana – I have been following this family and their story over the past year. When I first saw your post with their pictures, the tears flowed without stopping. No one should ever have to endure what this family and so many other families in our town have had to when losing a child to cancer. Your loyalty and absolutely beautiful sentiment is so rare and sincere. I will be calling to book a session… God Bless

Thank you Lisa. I look forward to hearing from you. The Musto’s deserve every bit of support we can offer them. They are truly an amazing family who have endured an unimaginable loss. My heart breaks for them…
