These were soooooo much fun! I love mixing it up a little bit to give my clients a few different options during the holidays. I’ll definitely be adding these barn minis to my holiday tradition! No tree next year though….you’ll just have to wait to find out what my designer has in store for you!
Wow. All I can say is WOW. These were a hit last year, but the interest in them this year was just astounding! Unfortunately for many (and myself frankly!), I don’t own a vintage red truck and rely on the kindness of those willing to rent it out for the day to make this happen every year. I only had the truck for two days, so I squeezed in as many families as I possibly could given the shortened days and my own sanity. This years truck won’t be available to me again next year (booooo), so if you know anyone willing to lend it out for a day or two, please contact me! And if you want in on these next year, make sure to sign up to receive my emails…they sold out in record time so you don’t want to rely on the inconsistency of Facebook to get notification of registration!
I couldn’t resist sharing just a little sampling of these red truck mini sessions ..now that the holidays are behind us and I won’t ruin any surprises! :)
Every fall I get asked if November is too late for a fall session…and while I know my clients are stressing, I try to remind them that some of the best and prettiest foliage of the entire season can be found in early November! Having leaves on the ground rather than simply on the trees makes a session. This was a particularly odd fall since this November session looks like it could have been in August, but such is the weather in Upstate New York these days!
If you have followed me for any length of time, you know my friend Nate and his amazing mom and dad. Well, they’re back on the blog today with their yearly Creative Session! It’s been so so so much flipping fun watching him grow from a newborn babe to a spunky amazing kindergartner!
Many people ask me the differences between my full Creative Sessions and my Classic ones. Well, one of my favorite things about my Creative Sessions are choosing a location that perfectly fits the family. Mom knew she wanted something different from what I had already been shooting this fall….and she preferred somewhere with water. So when I found this location, I was over the moon and just knew it’d be perfect for them! And having no time constraint means we got to spend lots of time just playing, laughing and having fun, allowing us to capture moments that may not have happened in a shorter 30 minute classic session. I’m just totally and completely head over heals for this family…and I hope they love these images as much as I loved taking them!
I love these people. A lot. Even if they weren’t my family, I’d still love them…never have you met such a generous, fun loving threesome. And I am honored that they trust me year after year to capture their amazingness. :)
Oh how I loved this family!! You know that feeling that you have when you meet someone and by the time you’ve spent less than 20 minutes with them, you already feel like you’ve known them forever? It’s just the best. I was delighted they wanted to include their pups in our session. I encourage any single client I have with doggies to please, please, please bring them! They are a huge part of our families and shouldn’t be left out in our images!
I just love photographing seniors…and that they trust me to preserve this milestone in a natural fun way. I thoroughly enjoyed capturing Jack in his element. He has spent countless hours biking in these woods so it only seemed fitting that we shot his senior portraits there. I hope he has the most amazing senior year ever. I know big things are waiting for him and I can’t wait to follow his journey!
With the first day of fall now here, I’m so sad that this is my last “summer” blog post for 2016. But man, we went out with a bang! The moon and stars aligned for us this night. I was slightly panicky for a split second as the sun dipped behind the mountains leaving us in full shadow (as I always am even though I know darn well this is some of the best light of the entire day!), but we were having so much fun we didn’t even wrap up until someone shouted “look at the moon!”, at which point, we ran across the road (safely) to try and catch a few more images before we lost all the light. I must have said “ok, just ONE more about a zillion times.” But I am so flipping glad my clients trusted me and played along. The result was SO worth a pair of exhausted children!!
I hope everyone’s littles had an amazing first week back at school! Before I get crazy with fall sessions and totally neglect my blog (like I do EVERY year despite promising not to), I wanted to take a moment to update everyone on what I have available for the remainder of the year for those still contemplating a fall and/or holiday session! Oh how I adore this family. There are just some people you meet in your life that after every encounter, you leave smiling. Mom & Dad have done an incredible job with these three kiddos. They are the most well mannered, polite and genuine children. We have been lucky enough to spend a majority of our summer with them and my girls will miss them tremendously as they go off to separate schools this fall. I can’t wait to help mom decorate her walls with these images of her gorgeous children!
